The Virginia Conservation Assistance Program (VCAP) is a program for homeowners, property owners and even businesses. It is an urban cost share program of the Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (VASWCD).

VCAP provides financial reimbursement to property owners who install specific conservation practices including but not limited to rainwater harvesting, conservation landscaping, rain gardens and installation of permeable pavement.

Residential, business, public and private locations that are non-agricultural are eligible. Most practices are eligible for 75% cost share and some practices provide a flat incentive payment up to the installation cost.

For additional information on the program and a list of reimbursable practices please visit http://vaswcd.org/vcap. Applications are taken locally at individual SWCD offices, so please contact our Education Conservation Specialist, Lowery Becker, for details on how to apply. Lowery can be reached via email at lowery.becker@nnswcd.org or via phone at 804-313-9102 x104.
